MBH-Edmonton is a project launched by Assist Community Services Centre to promote breast health through a multilingual array of free services such as workshops, information sessions, help with referrals and scheduling mammogram appointments, and support for breast cancer patients and survivors. Researchers here at University of Alberta have identified a genetic marker for a sporadic type of breast cancer that accounts for %80 of the cases. Research has been done on over 7000 women at the University of Alberta's Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in association with the Cross Cancer Institute.
