Throughout
history, women all over the globe have gone through a lot to reach the existing
level of recognition and equality, even though they remain at unequal levels
for many nations. According to Daughter’s Day organizing committee, “Women of
all ages are among the most vulnerable members of humanity. In every country,
including Canada, they face many forms of abuse, neglect, poverty and
violence.” The mission of this community initiative is to eliminate such
discrimination against girls and women at school, home, the workplace and on
the street.
The inaugural Daughters Day event will take place on Saturday, September 1, 2012 in Sir Winston Churchill square. For more information, check out Daughters-day.com
